The non-image kind: documents and uploaded video — things a template links or embeds, never renders inline as a picture. Same library, same reference shapes as Images, complementary promise. One kind, two shapes:

Video files

An uploaded video is a File, by decision rather than accident: rare enough on the sites this system serves that it has not earned its own kind, and a File field holds it fine — the embed is a kind-check in the template (see Single). If real video use arrives — posters, captions, transcode variants — video gets promoted to its own kind with its own pages, and this section becomes their first paragraph. (A YouTube embed is not this field at all: that is a URL field.)

When not to use it

• A picture the page shows — Images.
• Mixed kinds on purpose — the unconstrained media collection.
• A link to another page — reference.
