Elise Warren

Elise Warren in the studio

Elise Warren (b. 1984, Oakland) makes abstract paintings that begin outdoors and finish slowly in the studio. Thin layers of pigment and cold wax are built up and scraped back until a surface holds light the way the desert does at dusk.

Her work has been shown across the US and Europe and is held in public and private collections. She lives and works in Marfa, Texas.
