Chrome

The furniture that frames a site — header, footer, announcement bar, and back-to-top.

Alert bar

A full-width announcement strip for the top of a page — a message with an optional icon and link, in an accent or dark tone, optionally dismissible.

A floating button that appears once you scroll past a threshold and returns you to the top. A fixed-position widget, so it shows in the page corner rather than inline.

Document head

The whole for a document template — title, SEO and share cards, theme assets, and the no-flash colour boot. Required by every template so the head can't drift between them.

Footer

The site footer — brand and tagline, social icons, columns of links, and a copyright line. It is a band like any other, and takes the same surface tones every section does.

Navbar

The site header — brand, nav links, an actions slot, and a CTA button. A link can carry a dropdown of child links, or open a full-width hero "mega menu"; collapses to an offcanvas drawer on mobile.
